the "Million Dollar Highway". With vistas that will have you stopping for photo-ops all along the way, visit nearby Silverton and the Old Hundred Gold Mine. Ride an authentic reproduction stagecoach or enjoy a guided breakfast or dinner horseback riding tour through the gorgeous alpine scenery.

Visit the Narrow Guage Museum. Raft or kayak down the Animas River. Trimble Hot Springs, only 2 minutes down the road, is a lovely way to unwind after a rigorous day of outdoor activities, or you can simply relax and enjoy one of their renowned spa treatments. Dalton Ranch Golf Club is approximately 3 minutes away, and the Glacier Club at Tamarron lies within a 5 minute drive. Hillcrest Municipal Golf Course is just 15 minutes away and also offers gorgeous, expansive views of the La Plata Mountains.
The interior of the home is accented with lovely dry-stack rock walls and douglas fir beams for an air of rustic 'cabin' elegance.
Living/Dining Room

The great room is spacious and open to the dining area and kitchen so nobody has to feel left out of the action. The great room, kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, and master bathroom are flanked by a wall of windows that enhance the views of the gorgeous Animas Valley, Red Cliffs, Animas River, and Missionary Ridge. There is also a 63" flat plasma screen television and DVD player for your viewing pleasure, as well as a CD stereo system.

Overlooking the Animas Valley and the Narrow Gauge Railroad, the back yard has an outdoor seating area. This is a perfect spot to gather around the

the firepit at day's end to enjoy a relaxing drink, or cocktail while waiting to wave to riders on the last returning train of the day.
There is room to accomodate 10 people in the large dining room and kitchen area. The dining room table will seat six adults, with another four adults being seated at the adjacent eating bar. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with

everything you need should you decide to prepare a home-cooked meal. Granite-slab counter-tops, stainless steel appliances, and a convenient island occupy a huge preparation space where several cooks can work at once without feeling crowded. There is also space at the island for observers to watch the kitchen activity.

Decking extends from kitchen/dining area, around to the master bedroom for easy access. There is seating for eight on the deck outside the kitchen for lovely 'al fresco' dining.
The master bedroom furnishings include a king size bed with a pillow top mattress and a twin size sleeper loveseat.
If you plan on mixing business with your vacation pleasure, take advantage of the bedroom’s large executive desk and business centerarea which is equipped with a printer/fax/coppier & scanner/ for your business needs. Wireless internet service is available throughout the house as well as on the outside decks, at no extra charge.
The bathroom in this master suite also boasts a luxurious two person soaking bathtub, as well as a steam room/ shower for two, and a large walk-in closet. 

The other master suite also features a king-size bed with a pillow-top mattress and it's own private bath.
A third bedroom, with two twin beds configured perfectly for sharing between siblings or friends, has a convenient large bath across the hall. Each bedroom is
appointed with its own cable-equipped color
television, DVD player, and telephone - with free unlimited local calls.
Another very nice feature is that Whistle Run is constructed on one level so there are NO stairs to negotiate, except for the two steps on the front porch. There is a large deck outside the kitchen overlooking the backyard, animas valley, and the narrow guage train. A staircase leads from this deck down to the spacious backyard. This deck also wraps around the house to the master bedroom where there is more access to the backyard. A beautiful tree is the focal point outside the master bedroom suite. This master bedroom deck can be accessed through either of two sliding glass doors that make up one entire wall of windows in the master bedroom.
A full size laundry room with a built in ironing center, counter top for folding clothes, and sink makes washing and clean-up convenient.
Whistle Run is available May through October and will sleep 7 people VERY comfortably in 2800 sq feet of indoor living space, over 500 sq feet of outdoor decking, and over 1/2 acre of outdoor space.
